Introduction
Numerology practices and beliefs have been part of an ancient tradition which owes it’s origins to Pythgoras who stated that “the world is built upon the power of numbers.” Numerology is founded on the belief that the universe is composed of mathematical patterns and therefore everything can be used reduced to numbers. Numerology as we know it today is an amalgamation of divination and magic. Numbers are today used to determine destinies, fortunes and personalities of individuals by converting words in names, birthplaces and birthdates to digits.
The system of numerology can also be engaged in magic as a method of divination based on Pythagoras statement "The world is built upon the power of numbers." Numerological practice and beliefs systems have survived centuries and percolated down to the present day. An example of this concerns the numbers 11, 22, and 33, that are claimed to be master numbers and must not be reduced to a single digit, which when corresponding to an individual's name implies a spiritually inclined person.
